Union Table Runner
Union Table Runner is a symmetrical table runner with
optional beads worked into the end sections. One end
section is worked, then set aside. The second end section and center section are then worked and the 2 pieces are grafted together. Instructions for grafting are included because the “normal” technique is modified to create a garter ridge and complete the symmetry of the pattern.
This pattern is both written and charted and both types of instructions have been fully tested.
Testers used lighter and heavier weight yarns and altered the number of
pattern repeats to suit their needs.
The center section is a 28 row repeat and requires some concentration to
complete successfully. Lifelines may be helpful! Stitches used include basic knits and purls, yo, decreases, and double decreased (sk2p and cdd - both
explained in pattern).
Pattern has been tech edited and test knit.
Finished Size (blocked): 14" (35.5 cm) w x 32" (81 cm) l
Gauge: In Stockinette St, 22 sts = 4" (10 cm) before blocking
Skills Required: Basic knitting sts, yarn over (yo), decreases (k2tog and ssk), and double decreases (cdd and sk2p as described in pattern instructions.)
