Yadkin Shawl

Yadkin, an elongated semi-circular shawl, is worked from neck edge to bottom, then the edging is added along the outer arch. The final trim is worked along the sides of the edging and across the beginning chain.
Comprised of simple stitches, this shawl is a suitable project for crocheters of advanced beginner to experienced abilities.

Complete row-by-row instructions are included as well as a charts. Instructions also offer tips for enlarging the shawl. (Just remember to allow extra yarn!!) Metric and Imperial measurements are included. Full pattern is 6 pages. Pages 4 and 5 are charts, so stitchers who prefer to work from instructions will not need to print these pages.

Pattern has been tech edited and tested.

Finished Size (blocked):  58" wide x 15½" long at center (147.5 cm x 39.5 cm). Finished size may vary depending of the severity of blocking.

Gauge: Before blocking, 5 pattern repeats plus edge st and 16 rows = 5"w x 4¾"l (12.7 cm x 12 cm) (see detailed swatch instructions on page 6)
After blocking, 5 pattern repeats = 5¼" wide and 16 rows = 5"
(13.5 cm x 12.7 cm)
Gauge is not critical for this design.

Skills Required: Basic crochet sts, picots, 3-dc cluster. and 3-tr cluster

Yarn: Fingering Weight Yarn, 630 yards / 575 meters. Model crocheted in Wollmeise Pure; any fingering weight yarn can be substituted. To make shawl from 2 colors, the body of the shawl requires approximately 440 yards
(400 meters) and the edging requires 190 yards (175 meters).
Note: Yarn amounts are only guaranteed when working pattern to the specified gauge and to the original pattern size.
